Digital "Progress Test Medicine" for the Charité

High-performance Symfony application as the front end of a Drupal application

Publication date

The Charité in Berlin offers scientifically designed self-tests to its own medical staff and students; in addition, such tests are also carried out and analysed for cooperation partners (mostly renowned universities).

Components include question editing (including evaluation and blocking periods), the creation of test forms for online test phases and parallel paper-pencil tests, real-time evaluations and downstream cohort analyses/evaluations. In compliance with data protection regulations, test participants can be clearly identified via IDs, but are fully pseudonymised. The entire application runs without a login; personal data is only stored for members of the editorial team. Participants can switch devices during the test period and view a quick analysis of their personal results while maintaining their anonymity.

The Charité team responsible designed and implemented the prototype scientifically and technically. GzEvD created a high-performance "headless" online test environment on this basis in 2020.

"The new system is super fast and the users are totally satisfied. The development also ran with such ease, which I know from other development teams. You really make me feel like part of the team."
- Dr Maren März, Project Manager
