A total of 16 domains were transferred to a common database with a common layout and a stringent URL strategy was developed. Furthermore, 6 external databases were connected.

As a large part of the work was to be carried out internally, an agile method was chosen that allowed different team sizes to be handled in different phases. Apache Solr was used for the cross-domain search.

GzEvD provided essential development services in relation to the connection of external databases for the transfer of information to the visitBerlin.de website. Support was also provided in setting up a development and deployment environment. In the weeks after the website went live, extensive performance optimisations were carried out.
