The state of North Rhine-Westphalia is strategically utilising the advantages of open source software and has commissioned a multi-layered basic distribution that is now freely available to all institutions of the state and its municipalities and can be further developed by any company.
The website of the Ministry of the Interior served as a prototype for the development of the Drupal distribution deGov. We developed a basic setup that can display public sector websites in a responsive and accessible manner and takes into account all the typical requirements of public administration. The "state layer" is based on this and implements extensions for the state of NRW, above all the standardised design of the state authorities. Individualisations for the individual websites can then be carried out on a further layer.
This is just one of several projects that we have successfully implemented with deGov since then.
